Christmas was very nice. The reason and the season are lovely. Here's a few pictures of the children on Sunday in their Christmas best. :)
For Family Home Evening on Monday night, we held a live Nativity. Continuing the tradition of what Kody did growing up (and now that we have a country place to do it) we invited a couple of families over and we acted it all out. It went well. It's still a work in progress, but this year was better then last year so that was good. Everyone had a nice time.
This week was full of all kinds of fun and adventure! We went caroling with a few other families in the ward on Tuesday night...in the rain. It was hardly a drizzle, but after being out in it for over an hour we were pretty wet. Good thing it wasn't too freezing cold! Then on Christmas Eve we were at the farm feeding the animals and since we've had so much rain the past few weeks, it's like a swimming pool of mud. And.....our big rig even got stuck while in 4-wheel drive. Good thing we had a big ol' tractor to pull us right out. It took about 5 minutes :)
Christmas morning finally came and everyone was quite excited! The kids did pretty good and slept till about 6:30am. We are NOT getting up at 3 or 4 in the morning like Kody did growing up. In fact, he says every year, "I can't believe we did that. Or that my parents did it!" :) So it was just after 7am once everyone was up and dressed and ready to go. That works out much better, we think.
Thanks to grandparents, Christmas buddies, eBay, Craig's List, and Value Village, everyone got good stuff. It was very nice!

Kosette was so cute opening her stocking stuff. She had to show everybody each thing. And she would hug each thing. So cute! In fact it's really what each of the kids did! :)
The kids...and mainly Kody :)..... had a great time setting up the Lego train. It's always a hit at Christmas time.
We opened stockings and then I made breakfast while the littles played around. I forgot to take a picture of the yummies. But we enjoyed German pancakes, bacon, eggs, toast, and juice. It was good. While I was preparing the food, Kody went down to the farm to feed the animals. This was the morning sunrise. Very pretty!
We didn't get a lot of pictures during the process. But here's a couple.
I also forgot a picture of dinner, but we enjoyed a super delish ham, hot potato casserole, and salad. I didn't make a desert because I knew we would have so much candy and goodie stuff. We were all content with that :)
We are very thankful for the opportunity and freedom to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the Reason for the Season. We feel His love and acknowledge His hand in our life. And we're very happy to be where we are with our little family.
