Kayda's 9th Birthday

Our Kayda Babes recently turned 9. She is really growing into quite a young lady. She's the most "girlie" of our girls. She's into hair, wearing make-up, painting her nails, and the like. She has the most energy of all the kids, but when she's worn out and tired, she can also be the one who shows it the most. She still loves doing gymnastics on the living room floor and is the fastest runner (even beating me at times). She is all about fun, entertainment, and moving. Which makes it a bit difficult when it's time to focus on things like school work or reading. She's a really good little artist, has excellent penmanship, loves to write letters to people (and receive them), play the piano, and she's a great little soccer player and dancer! We love our sweet Kayda Babes!!

Displaying her new ballet slippers. Thank you Marmie!

Our neighbor/friend/landlord, Anita, loves to celebrate peoples birthdays (She's a gal after my own heart!) So she's made cupcakes for Kody and now Kayda's birthdays and brought them over. She's also given a nice card, a bunch of coloring pages for the kids, and lots of confetti! She's a very sweet lady, and we're happy to know her!

Kayda wanted to have a birthday party with a few friends, but it turned out to be a bad weekend for most of the kids, because only 1 was going to be able to show up. So we cancelled it and went into the city to a very nice park. I can't remember the name of it, but it was very beautiful with lots of rose gardens, walking paths, grass, trees, and of course a nice playground. We were there for a few hours and had a lovely time. I had commented to Kody that I hadn't ever seen so many fathers at a park with their children! It was really neat. There were lots of mothers too, of course. But there really were dozes of dads at the park really playing with their kids. That warmed my heart :)

After the park, we went to a cute little diner restaurant. Kayda loves to eat out, so that made her happy.

She was up at 6:30am the morning of her birthday ready to open gifts. Naturally. She also enjoyed some cake. My camera ran out of batteries right as we started her happy birthday song and she blew out the candles. But I'm sure you get the picture :)

We all love Kayda and the sassy-frass she is! She's full of spunk and lots of lovin'!
