Lots of work has been happening. The pond that Kody has been building for his sister Summer needed to be completed (or mostly finished) by this week. She is hosting a gymnastics camp at her house for 4 days and part of the fun is going to be the pond, boats, splash pad, volleyball, basketball, horseback riding, archery, barn dance, etc. So Kody spent all last week working about 15 hours each day trying to get it finished.
Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday we worked on putting in the sprinklers and laying sod.
So many ditches needed dug to lay the pipes.
Kody spent more time in this one box than he did nearly any other single task. It was like a major puzzle doing all the pluming for the pond drain and pump, and the sprinklers, drinking fountain, and all the other plumbing stuff.
There was a total of 9 pallets of sod. So much grass! We used all of it but 1 pallet. We laid about 3,600 square feet of sod.
This was the sod laying crew. It was such a process! But it looks SO SO good!
The dump truck brought about 10 loads of sand for the volleyball court. It's like an Olympic size sand court.
Thi is what the kids helped do! :)
Nice, level sand! I don't have a picture, but the volleyball net is up too.
Yesterday Kody worked from 5:30am till 11:58pm. He got the dock all finished and it looks great!
Then it was time to start filling up the pond. It took about 20 hours or so.
Chillaxing on the dock.
Everyone got ready to swim!
While the kids played in the water, Kody spent another 8 hours in this box finishing all the plumbing stuff. He said it was like doing a triple bypass heart surgery on plumbing parts. :)
I'll get some better pictures of the splashpad, but since it's not totally finished, it'll have to wait. But here's the 40 gymnastics girls partying in the water!
Kody's a real genius when it comes to building things!
