The past couple of weeks have been all about hay. 55 acres to be near exact. Kody cut, raked, and baled the frist week and then it was time to load. The kids and I started helping on Tuesday about 9 am for several hours. Wednesday we started at 5am and Thursday (the 4th) we started at 4am. Thankfully we had Andrew helping to load too. It was a looooong week. We got over 1,800 bales that we had to load on the trailer and stack by hand. Each bale weighed about 65 lbs, so we lifted over 117,000 lbs (or 58 tons) of hay. I didn't get a picture of the stack of bales, but it was about 30 feet wide on all 4 sides and about 30 feet high. So to sum it up, it is A LOT of hay. And to think, this is only the first cutting. We'll have 1 or 2 more this summer. Yikes!
This was about 4:30 in the morning
