Grammy and Papa came for a visit

We were excited to have Grammy and Papa come up and stay with us for a few days. It was good of them to make the trek all the way here! We enjoyed another outing to Riverfront Park, seeing the Spokane River and falls, a fun picnic dinner at Bear Lake (at which Papa did an amazing job swatting umpteen wasps with the spatula), an impromptu swim by the kids fully clothed, work on the farm bailing and loading hay, and picking veggies and keeping our self-serve road side stand stocked and full, and enjoying lots of talk about government, politics, preparedness, and the end of the world. Grammy and Papa were troopers camping out in the back of their truck (which I think they preferred over a hide-a-bed couch we put them on the first night). Good thing they planned on camping in the their truck during the rest of their travels up to Canada and such, because they came prepared with all the stuff they needed :) We had a great time with them and I think they did with us too!

Who needs a swim suit?? NO ONE!

The kids love this wagon slide! We want to do one on the farm, but make it a tractor in stead!

Kosette was feeling the need for some adrenalin, so we improvised an roller coaster ride

Papa took a vacation from farm work to come to WA and do farm work! Of course it's like cleaning a house. It's always way funner to clean or work at somebody elses house then it is your own, right?

Since Kody's folks were here for his birthday, we headed to Bear Lake for a evening. We didn't go planning to swim, but with kids and water within walking distance, they of course were drawn to it.

Happy 32nd birthday to Kody!

A big thanks to Grammy and Papa for coming up!
